Size Does Matter...?
Next time someone asks if "Does size really matter?" Simply say... "Yes. Yes it does." That is, if they are talking about what size ring you use for your rolling pin.... oh wait... did that come out wrong? :-)
Okay, so one of the things I am asked a lot on is how do I get my fondant so level.
Well my sercret.... Rolling Pin Rings.
Rolling Pin Rings are literally just that, rings. THey come in a varaiety of sizes and colors. Each color indicates a particular size. Usually you have 4 sizes to choose from.
Red - (1/16")
Yellow - (1/8")
Green - (1/4")
Blue - (3/8")
But not all rolling pin rings come in colors. Some come in white or red, depending on the brand that you purchase.
However, the size stays the same. Fondant is usually done with a blue ring which is 3/8". But the rings are not only used for fondant. They can be used for leveling cookies or doughs as well.
